Suez Canal Blockage Update & Alternatives

The operation to clear the blockage of the Suez Canal caused by the megaship Ever Given is proving to be much more challenging than initially expected. As of now, 33 cancelled sailings have been announced between weeks 14 and 17, out of a total of 480 scheduled sailings, representing a 6% cancellation rate. If the situation persists, shippers and BCOs will inevitably experience delays in their deliveries and may also see a further surge in spot rates in coming weeks. Please contact your local Agility office should you have any questions or assistance.
