Updates: COVID-19

As well as extending the ongoing lockdown policies until 9 May, the government have also recently eased restrictions on some “low-risk” industries, including construction, agriculture, and e-commerce. International passenger flights remain suspended, continuing to constrain airfreight capacities. Domestic road freight services have not been impacted. However, the land borders with Afghanistan remain closed for all commercial road freight movements, except for food and medical supplies. As well as reduced working hours, the ongoing lockdown measures have also affected the customs workforce, resulting in further congestion. Ocean freight services have been the least affected and are largely operating as normal.
