Updates: COVID-19

The Indian government has announced a phased removal of the lockdown, between 1st to 31st August. Most states have allowed normal life to resume, including opening of some forms of public transport. However mass transport systems like metro and suburban rail are still not allowed to operate.

Customs clearance, road and rail cargo continue to operate as normal. Road transport has seen significant improvement compared to previous months, but is still impacted due to shortage of drivers. All port terminals, container freight stations and inland container depots are operational, however continue to face shortage of labour.

A limited number of domestic flights are operating, but some states have restrictions on receiving flights from others, and each state has put in place quarantine requirements for inter-state travelers. International passenger flight operations remain suspended till 31 Aug 2020, however a limited number of flights are operational, based on bilateral agreement between governments.
