What we do
Since 2018 Tristar has supported schools in South Sudan and Kenya. In South Sudan, Tristar constructed a computer lab in Gabat School in Juba using pre-fabricated cabins. The computer lab enables primary and secondary aged students to learn computer and technology skills including software applications, word processing and general computer proficiency. The lab has enabled more than 2,000 students to improve IT literacy; and it has introduced computing skills to students and teachers. Tristar’s contribution enabled Gabat School to be the first in South Sudan to incorporate computer education into its curriculum.
In Kenya, Tristar has supported Kiserian Primary School, located in Kajiado County, by renovating the sanitary facilities six years after initially constructing new facilities for boys and girls in 2018. Clean and functional sanitary facilities directly impacts girls’ education because it enables girls above 10 years old to remain in school instead of dropping out. Additionally, Tristar’s construction and renovation will help improve hygiene standards and foster a healthier learning environment for students by reducing hygiene-related illnesses and absenteeism. This will help ensure a safer and more conducive school environment for young learners.
