Expediting peak season volumes from China to South America

As a global leader in supply chain services to some of the world’s largest retail organizations, Agility understands retail challenges. We have specialists in the logistics industry with an international network prepared to handle issues of storage capacity, cargo consolidation and visibility into the supply chain. With an established network of department stores and supermarkets in four South American countries, one retail customer had advanced logistics processes, but needed establishing a procurement office in China. Agility stepped in to process purchase orders and handle shipments using systems directly linked to the retailer’s own. During one peak season, Agility’s warehouse in Shenzhen, China, processed more than 800,000 units, receiving purchase order information from vendors and separating merchandize down to SKU levels according to delivery directives. Agility then transferred the pre-packed containers filled with holiday merchandise to shipping lines. This process saved both time and money as containers received at the retailer’s South American distribution center could be forwarded directly to stores in Colombia and Chile, avoiding costly demurrage charges and further processing delays. ​

Moving heavy equipment with the greatest – and clearest – of ease

When a customer needed 155 cbm (65 tons) of mining equipment moved, Agility Chile’s project logistics team stepped in to help. This team is skilled in big, heavy moves – and what complicated this particular move was that the equipment needed to be collected from 16 different points of origin and transported to destinations within different regions of Chile. In addition to completing the move within the given timeframe of August 2011 through February 2015, Agility added value by giving full transparency into the projects with tailored reporting for the customer.
