Keeping the fuel supply chain unbroken in a challenging environment
Agility-owned Tristar has been involved in humanitarian operations in Africa for a decade by building and operating fuel supply chains to support forces engaged in peace-keeping missions. In 2007, the Tristar group in Dubai was awarded a long-term fuel supply contract in Sudan, requiring the group to build and operate fuel supply infrastructure under challenging circumstances, such as weather, poor road networks and security risks, and within time constraints. Most locations in Sudan were accessible only by human tracks, with just 2,000 km of tarmac roads. With the rainy season from May to November turning roads into mud tracks, Tristar moved its operations to the river. The group built a supply chain around barge movements to supply fuel where it was needed. These same barges were later used to transport internally displaced persons (IDPs) back to South Sudan after its secession in 2011, effectively saving the lives of 1,000 people.
Efficiently delivering for the world’s largest natural gas project
The Greater Gorgon gas field is one of the world’s largest natural gas projects and has a life expectancy of 60 years. The gas field is located off the coast of western Australia and contains about 40 trillion cubic feet of gas. Agility has been an integral partner in developing the gas field by providing domestic supply-based operations (including general warehousing, long-term storage areas, staging areas for materials, and quarantine-compliant facilities) in Perth and Dampier, along with domestic and marine transport. Each month of Agility’s contract totaled 4,000 TEUs moved and 443 people employed, with figures expected to increase as the project moves forward. Agility’s 70 trucks and 250 trailers on the project have traveled a combined 17.3 million km. Agility achieves these results with great attention to safety standards, operating at a KPI of 0.2 incidents or less per 200,000 man hours.

Customized dashboards deliver operational efficiencies
When oil and gas prices began falling in 2014, energy companies looked first to lower their freight costs and generate additional working capital by stretching out payment terms.
