2020 has been an extraordinary year. Because of COVID-19, millions of children around the world have not been able to attend school. This year, we pivoted our education partnerships to focus on digital access to education to give kids a chance to continue their studies, even in the most difficult circumstances. This short video gives you an overview of how Agility teams around the world have helped make an impact.
Agility Colombia donated computers to support 150 youths utilizing YMCA and Fundacion Nueva Vida Para Todos facilities.
Students with no other access to computers to continue their education use the organizations’ resources to complete their coursework. Agility Colombia donated 15 desktops to the organizations to support the students’ education.
Agility also supported the Nueva Vida foundation in 2019 with 13 desktops, and provided the organization with funding to purchase essential items for the students’ families, more than 600 individuals, during a COVID-19 related lockdown in 2020.
In Colombia, Agility employees worked with Fundacion Nueva Vida Para Todos to set up a computer lab for 120 students in Bogotá. The computer lab, which benefits students from 4-17 years old, includes 13 computers donated by Agility, and gives students the chance to take computer training courses and provides them with open spaces for collaboration. With Agility’s support, Fundacion Nueva Vida Para Todos has been able to schedule regular computer classes and open the lab on Saturdays for students to use for schoolwork and research.
Agility Colombia conducted a park creation activity in a disadvantaged neighborhood where more than 300 people reside. The children in the area also received lessons from an environmental expert on how to properly care for the community and the trees that were planted.
